We @ Über Desi are always looking for talented and motivated people to join our team. We’re currently opening our positions for guest contributors/bloggers for a short period of time.

Contributor: Submits material and/or opinions which are refined and published by our bloggers. No money contributions involved in case you were wondering

Blogger: Writes and publishes own blog posts. These posts may be further refined by our editors, as they deem fit.

If you satisfy, any one of the following 10 criteria, you can help us:
1. An active blogger
2. Interested in political/cultural/current happenings in India and US
3. Active in desi student/regional/cultural associations
4. Watch a wide variety of desi movies and/or theater or read a wide variety of desi literature or listen to a wide variety of desi music
5. Travel and/or eat at a lot of desi places
6. In know of the latest in H1B and green card happenings
7. Business
8. Sports - cricket, hockey, IPL, F1, desis in American sports
9. Like to take spur-of-the-moment photographs and/or video recordings
10. Other area of speciality (we’re pretty open minded that way)

You would have to express a viewpoint/opinion with each contribution/post. Humor is always good. We welcome PJs and bad jokes.

Q. Do I get paid?
A. No.

Q. No money? Then vaat is the use?
A. We blog because we love to share news and our opinions with everyone.We don’t get paid either. However, we do have thousands of readers across the globe, particularly in North America and India and also in Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Down Under and South East Asia. If you are an aspiring blogger, writer, journalist, author, script writer, photographer, videographer and/or other media person, your work will receive additional worldwide exposure.

Q. Do I need to be a seasoned blogger.
A. No.

Q. Can I still have my own blog?
A. Yes. As long as you’re not cross-posting, we’re ok with you having your own blog, in fact we encourage it.

Q. Do I need to be of desi/Indian/South Asian origin?
A. No. But the material you give us has to be of desi interest.

Q. Will it cost me money to do any of this?
A. No. It’s 100% free - desi ishtyle.

Q. How much time will it take?
A. A contribution takes 15-20 minutes once you’re comfortable with it. A blog post could be 30 minutes to one hour on average.

Q. Can I contribute/blog a lot?
A. By all means. The more, the merrier. Having said that, we don’t believe in letting quality suffer in favor of quantity. We trust you to make the right choice.

Q. I already send story tips regularly
A. That is awesome and you know how much we appreciate that. You can continue with that or make it something more official. Either way we’re glad to have you help us.

Q. What if I can’t contribute/blog for 2-3 weeks?
A. You can make up for lost time later. We don’t believe in deadlines.
