Her literary works and “hypnotic eyes” earn author Jhumpa Lahiri checks in at #8. Also in at #7 is rapper M.I.A. If this were strictly a desi list a.k.a “The Thinking Desi Man’s sex symbols” who else deserves to be on there?
My nomination: Padma Lakshmi. Besides obviously being über hot and her exploits on the ramp and on-screen in movies, she also hosts one of the better reality shows on TV – Bravo’s “Top Chef”, has guest hosted British culinary tourism show Planet Food, has authored her own cookbooks and was married to Salman Rushdie (he even based a character in one of his novels on her).
