Unfortunately, yet another Indian origin student has been discovered dead in mysterious circumstances. The body of Akkaladevi Srinivas (29), hailing from Korutla in Karimnagar District, was found.He had been stabbed to death. Srinivas was a student in Pennsylvania.
An MBBS student of 1995 batch of Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, Srinivas had joined Scranton State University for an MD programme in 2005 after completing his MS. He went to the US in 2002. ( link)
This is distressing news especially after the recent deaths of Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Alam Kiran Kumar in a home invasion at Louisiana State University as well as Abhijit Mahato at North Carolina. Uber Desi extends condolences to Srinivas’ family and friends.
While these incidents are scary, lets not to jump to conclusions that Indian students are somehow being targeted. Its a terrible world out there and I urge our readers – especially students – to be careful at all times and watch out for one another.
