Since it is our first new years after being established, kinda, we asked our bloggers to contribute people for the Über Desi of the year awards. The categories like ÜD, were supposed to be funny and boy do we have a list for you.
The winner gets one hot car!!
Überest Desi: Ms. Kushboo Jani - For being more concerned about her exams than her life.
Über Tounge Slip: Mr. Madhu Koda - For the “late” Sonia Gandhi comment.
Über Marriage: Vanisha Mittal Vs. Sunny Leone. The Mittal wedding was the fairy tale of the century and Sunny Leone broke too many hearts, at least she decided to stick with girl on girl action.
Über Entertainer: Sanjaya Malakar and Shilpa Shetty. Sanjaya for helping us lend credence to the call center theory and Shilpa for keeping us entertained and giving us something to write about later in the year.
Über Politician: Bobby Jindal and Musharraf. Mushy for his no holds barred politics and Jindal for creating history. (Dis)Honorable mention: Narendra Modi, as the tyrannical bigot who got re-elected in a democratic election.
Über Weirdo: Man marries dog and Man bites dog
Über Villain: Anand Jon for his work on How to win girls and go to jail
Über Astronaut: Lisa Nowak or Sunita Williams (un,dos) 
Über Doc: Sanjay Gupta
Über Businessman: Ratan Tata or Vijay Mallaya
Über Superstar: Rajnikant (over Amitabh) 
Über Humanitarian: With origins from across the border, Sardar M Inamullah (the Pakistani doctor who rescued the Tamil gal, Samlin Jenita from Trichy who had been dowry harassed , a few weeks ago) and Hassan Askari, the Bangladeshi student from the NYC subway incident
And did we miss the Über Waitress Shyamali Malakar?
Überest Desi Nepotistic Oligarchy: Mahinda (executive president), Basil (Senior Advisor) , Chamal (Minister–Irrigation and Water), Gotabhaya (Secretary–Defence), Nirupama (MP-Hambantota)

Über Fakin’ Da Desi: Brett Lee (for his earnest duet with Asha Bosle) (Glenn Mcgrath and Stephen Fleming run a close second for this one–is that Jason Gillespie in the middle?)
Über Dawkins Desi: Dr. M. Karunanidhi, for all his assorted commentary on the Ram Setu controversy and Ram himself
