The LSU Foundation has established “Komma & Allam Support Fund” for the family members of Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Kiran Kumar Allam. The intention is to divide the contributions received between the two spouses.

Since the funds being collected and disbursed are solely on behalf and in support of the two students’ spouses, and will not be retained by the LSU Foundation for educational purposes, the LSU Foundation will not issue contribution receipts for IRS charitable deduction purposes.

It takes a couple of minutes and a credit card to do this online. Put your hard-earned rupees/dollars/euros where your mouth is, if you feel as strongly as I do about helping the families of these unfortunate desi students. The amount is not important, what is important is bridging the difference between wanting to help someone and actually helping that person.
