Narain Karthikeyan is Black?

Most of you who watch stand up comedy will remember the Wanda Sykes joke about Tiger Woods.

It goes something like

People were talking about this Black kid coming out of Stanford and when he won his first tournament, people started reporting that he was 50% Black and 50% Asian.

After he won a few more tournaments, he was reported as being 25% Black and every tournament he wins after that his blackness reduces.

It looks like the same thing is happening to Narain Karthikeyan, well except he has not won anything in the near past.

Talking about Lewis Hamilton, the rookie F1 sensation, iafrica.com says this about Narain.

The 22-year-old Briton, the first man of Afro-Caribbean descent to race in Formula 1 and the second black driver after Indian Narain Karthikeyan, had finished third and second in his two previous races to date.

Brown, Black, Bronze, we are all people, so it is fine by me, well as long as they mention that he is Indian.

But what happened next is a little more irritating.

The New Strait Times out of Malaysia reprinted the exact same article on their website and did not make the necessary correction.

I am mad because Malaysia has had F1 an driver before, Alex Yoong, who currently races for Team Malaysia alongside Narain in the A1GP. Racing is a pretty popular sport in Asia and I wish the Asian News media had picked up this mistake.

I should get paid for correcting these errors.
