A man and his car.

Looks like you are new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

morris.jpgIt is common for men to love their cars and they make no bones about professing their love. Yes, I am one of them, as most of my close friends would attest to having heard the “I want to die when I am driving” statement at various points of my life.

Well, a farmer in India did almost exactly that. This story has a lot of angles. Vintage car check, Man who loved cars check, Family that supported his love for cars check and finally him being rich enough to fulfill his wishes check.

Narayanaswami alias Kannaiyan(64), was the headman of Sivapuram village in Thanjavur. He had expressed his wish to be buried along with the Morris Minor car which he had bought in 1958 when he was 15 years old, family sources said.

And family did exactly what he wanted.[Via UnderTaker]. A huge grave was dug using an excavator and Narayanaswami was buried along with his beloved Morris Minor.

Besides being a part of this story, Morris has had a huge impact in India. The Morris Oxford III was the basis of the Hindustan Ambassador, which is one of India’s best selling car of all time. Now if the MMOC had got a wind of this, things could have been a little different.

May the man and his car rest in peace.

UberDesi tip for the Ladeej: Never stand between a man and his car. Even death cannot do them apart.
