Well although my article does mention the BCCI, I was hoping for someone to start something like this.

Besides creating a talent pool, there is a good financial motivation and a lot of cricket left in India that is currently untapped.

Funny thing is, the Chennai first division cricket league is full of corporate sponsored teams. Even Dravid, Srinath etc. have played for some Chennai first division teams like Chemplast, SPIC etc., in the leagues. In fact I remember , in the 90s, some West Indian cricketers came over too.

I'm all for a breakaway league. The ICC has become stale and it is my opinion that cricket would be far more interesting when played as a league of teams rather than a league of nations where stars from different nations play for a team owned by a city or a company. Kind of like the leagues in soccer.

Dude, I think this is different because it is anti-establishment (if the BCCI can be called "establishment"). And it might not even take off, because the BCCI seems to have the politicians in its pocket and we all know that sometimes only that matters, i.e. who has whose ear. So, wait and watch!
