Malakar Mania (TM)
As Sanjaya continues on his run to become the next American Idol, he made top 10 last week, Malakar Mania (TM) is starting to sweep the Internet and Hollywood. As evidenced in previous posts some people are taking this psuedo-reality too seriously, I mean a hunger strike, cmon America!!!! UberDesi attempts to lighten the mood by injecting some humor, with the help of other bloggers and websites. This post is dedicated to the proliferation of Malakar Mania (TM) in mainstream America, a best of Sanjaya, if you will. Uber Disclaimer: This post is in humor and may contain mild political incorrectness. If you are of the easily offended type, see ya later.
We will start with a sampling of photoshop images courtesy UberDesi contributors who prefer they remain unnamed.

The WOWReport (via Gauravnomics) has a funny take on Sanjaya’s shaggy hairdo.

Abhi at Sepia Mutiny has a hilarious piece on Sanjaya as Anakin vis-a-vis Star Wars and how Sanjaya could be the one to “Bring Balance to the Force”. Here’s a sampling:
No. The true comparison to make in this case is that between Malakar and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader:
Appearances alone mean NOTHING, however! Look at the other extraordinary parallels between our two anti-heroes and their stories. Every week when Malakar gets in front of the “council of judges†he is deemed “not ready to be an American Idol.†Likewise, when Anakin is brought in front of the Council of Jedi, he too is brushed aside as not yet ready to be counted as a master. Tell me, who had the last say in THAT tug-of-war?
Indeed! Although if the Star Wars analogy were to hold, he would be bumped off in the final episode. A more appropriate analogy would be like this comment points out: Sanjaya is Luke, Shyamali is Leia (conjuring images of the metal bra and Jabba the Hut from Return of the Jedi) and desis are ewoks.
Another one that evoked some chuckles from us, was an image posted by a now banned reader on UberDesi (banned for repeatedly posting under a different topic inspite of warnings). This image tries to legitimize the conspiracy theory of call centers voting for Sanjaya. We think the image is funny and so is the theory.

Finally, this animated gif I found, of all places, on a college football message board, shows a clip of Shyamali, Sanjaya’s uber hot sister. I’ll leave it up to our male audience to decide the significant happening in this clip. Quoting Ben Stein from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off “Anyone?? Anyone??? Patrix???”
