Another $6.50 down the drain. That’s all you need know. I just hope that Kal Penn took the advice of Ari Gold and booked his next gig before The Rise of Taj was released.

I am not a big movie guy, but we made a promise and we had to keep it. Besides, this is Kal’s first movie as the lead. So we just had to go check it out and it was a big disappointment.
The movie was way too slow. Like most other Hollywood movies, almost all of the punch lines were already in the ad. The decently funny part of the movie was when Tajs’ parents showed up. The rest was lost in British phrases and a trying to be Indian accent that was lost in delivery.
I wanted to watch Harold and Kumar a second time, half the dialouges were lost in the laughter in the theater. This movie is nothing like that, check it out to support the brother, but please walk into the theatre with NO expectations.

Sorry about your $6.50 dude. Maybe Kalpen should stick to sidekick roles.
Well, the problem was more with the lack of material than with his acting. Kal had nothing to work with here.
