There could be a slight difference though between the British audiences' openness to Indian-themed shows as opposed to American audiences. The 'slumdog effect' was certainly in evidence during a television season we've just had in the UK - it was Channel's 4's 'Indian Winter' season and heavily focussed on 'slum' themes literally.
