There is definitely an undercurrent of frustration of non Hindi speaking Desis against the Hindi ones. Have heard from fellow Singapore/Malaysian Desis about they get treated by these people.

By Desi, here I mean anyone of Indian race and not nationality.

In this case, the culprits are Hispanics and these people usually tend to interact most with Desi business owners who are again mostly Hindi/Punjabi. The Hispanics&#039; generally lower standard of earning could lead to frustration against these Desis. FYI, East Palo Alto and the part of Mountain View where this happened is dominated by Hispanics.</description>
