McCain-Obama 2nd debate

From Santosh On 8 October 2008 View Comments

Both candidates picked off from where they left off in the first debate, resulting in the second debate becoming a de facto extension of the first one. Each one did a great job of explaining why the other one should NOT be the next President and consequently a poor job of why people should vote for them for President. I really doubt last night’s debate changed any undecided voter’s mind.

However, there was an odd moment with McCain referring to Obama as “that one”. Not sure if McCain was just being condescending towards Obama or this was McCain’s attempt at making fun of Obama supporters who’ve anointed him as “the one”.

“There are millions of people around this world praying to their god — whether it’s Hindu, Buddha, Allah — that his [McCain’s] opponent wins, for a variety of reasons,” said Arnold Conrad, former pastor of Grave Evangelical Free Church. “And Lord, I pray that you would guard your own reputation because they’re going to think that their god is bigger than you if that happens. So I pray that you will step forward and honor your own name in all that happens between now and Election Day.”

Who would refer another person like that? Was he referring to his dog? Even they don't like to be called "that one" these days. Well, that fact is he is too old to be taught about manners and stuff. So,lets hope "this one" stays at home and "that one" goes to the WH.
