The Telegraph probably intended to run this as an orientalist article but its too damn cute not to post on here. [Telegraph]
The Macaca family
img: via Telegraph
The story is that of a baby langur, Ramu, adopted by a family in Gujarat.
Ramu’s mother was killed by a bunch of stray dogs. He was rescued and brought home by Mr, Mehta, an animal rights activist and promptly adopted by the Mehta family. The article talks about how Ramu, the langur, is adjusting to his new life in the Mehta household and his relationship with Diksha, the Mehtas’ daughter (pictured left).
From drinking from baby bottles to sharing human food …..
Ramu is fed using Diksha’s old feeding bottle and his diet is supplemented by fresh mangoes and oranges.
… to moped rides …
He clings to his new ‘mother’ wherever she goes, around the house or on the moped going to the shops.
………….. Ramu the langur seems to be living it up, macaca ishtyle.

Who’s creepy fingers are on the little girlie’s neck (on her left side)…it looks even creepier. Ramu is too adorable.
