Desi protests: A tale of two nations

In Amreeka, Hindu protestors want a free ticket to “The Love Guru” so they can discover how they’re being lampooned, if at all. Rajan Zed and gang are still awaiting the ticket - 100% free desi ishtyle - but seems like Paramount won’t relent. [Tri-Valley Herald] (tip Runa via email) [NDTV] (tip Sai via email)

Across the world, back in the des, Sikhs are offended by a MTV poster for the reality show, “On the Job 2″ that apparently shows a Sikh girl massaging a man. So incensed are they with this poster, a group of 70 Sikhs attack the MTV office in Mumbai. MTV is considering withdrawing the poster. [Yahoo] (tip Runa via email)

From these two case studies of intolerance in the name of religion and the results they produced, what have we learnt?
