Posters of a big tamil movie star line the street, the venue that could hold 20,000 people is twice as full, stampede on the streets and every big name in town and some from out of town decide to show up. Ideally this would be the scene for the first show of a Rajnikanth movie.

Not this time it isn’t. This whole ruckus is for Kamal Haasans next movie.

While I cannot comment on the quality or trend of movies, this just seems a little unnecessary and to boot there are reports that the music is sub par.

At least the audience got a glimpse of Mallika Sherawat. I predict some effigy burning, apology demanding and a lot of news coverage in the next three days over a) her dress, b) she walking in tow with a furriner and c) because it has been a while since they burnt any effigies.
