Friendly Reminder: Tax Day

“Certainty? In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes.”
Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Nearly 2 and a half centuries later, these words still ring true, more so now than ever. Friendly reminder to all our readers, today is April 15th which in USA is synonymous with tax day. If you haven’t done so, please take the time to send in your taxes.
If you’re done with your taxes, which I assume most of you have, it’s time to sit back and wait for the refund, money which is rightfully yours which the government of USA collects interest on.
For the unfortunate few, who had to pay taxes, the former should come as some sort of consolation, at least the government did not sit on your money and collect interest.
As for me, I got done with taxes last week, finally. I filed online with Turbo Tax and order my refund to be direct deposited. Many would argue this point but to me, in my quest for a paper-free life, the fee is worth the convenience.
To my fellow coffee drinkers, Dunkin Donuts is offering a donut free - 100% desi ishtyle - today with the purchase of their scrumptious coffee. To those who’ve never tried Dunkin Donuts regular coffee, I highly recommend it. I’m aware of most desis’ love for Starbucks lattes, but when it comes to regular coffee, Starbucks can’t hold a batti* to Dunkin Donuts. There I said it.

*batti = Hindi for lamp

    Hurray for TaxAct!

I hate doing it on the paper too, and accountants (usually of desi origin) charge anything between 40-70$, while most online tax sites will get you the tax info for free to print it out but charge upto 20$ for filing it online..
