Karun Chandok signs with iSport for 2008 GP2 series.

After winning the race at Spa and bagging the award for the most improved driver for 2007 in the GP2 series, Karun Chandok was invited to test for iSport International after the season ended. Like many predicted the tests went well and Karun has signed up with iSport for the 2008 season.

While most people might view this as a simple switch of teams, from Durango to iSport, the latter won the Drivers and Team Championship for 2007. Timo Glock, the 2007 drivers championship winner signed up with Toyota F1 to replace Ralf Schumacher. iSport was also the home for American Scott Speed who debuted with Scuderia Torro Rosso, The junior Red Bull Racing team.

In addition Karun will be paired with Bruno Senna, the newphew of the late Ayrton Senna. Regular GP2 viewers will know the amount of coverage he gets on and off screen. This could only help Karun.

If this is not indication enough that Karun is well on his way to an F1 seat in 2009, I don’t know what is.
