House update: Does Kal Penn live?

We had to to keep our House fans updated about Kal Penn, playing Dr. Lawrence Kutner and his progress in the “Survivor” style shoot out in the series. My huge DVR play list meant I got to watch the episode much later than I had anticipated.

After the last post, I set my DVR to record House and I found a few interesting things.

- Harold aka. John Cho was a guest back in 2005

- Kal Penn’s character looks like it’s been adapted from Harold and Kumar. He looks, talks and does things like House Jr. (Regular viewers of the show will get this). Take out the doobies, slap a lab coat on him, you get Dr. Kutner. Besides Houses sarcasm, Kal provides some good humor, which helps distract you from the tension in the plot.

After the shoot out, almost burning a couple of patients, Dr. Cuddy recommending that he not be picked, Dr. Kutner lives to talk about it. I have to thank Ash for pointing me to the show, I would have watched it even without the Desi touch to it.

If HK2 is a hit, we just might see the brotha on his own TV show, doing doctor stuff, albeit, I would like for it to be more successful than Joey.
