You cannot do anything about people taking offense - there will always be a section of people that will take offense at virtually anything that one says. What I guess you were getting at is the insidiousness of the government stepping in to &quot;protect&quot; the sentiments of the various lunatic fringes that take offense. I think what is different between India and the US is the protection offered to freedom of speech.Civil liberties post 9-11 are as shaky here as they are in India. The difference is that one can openly discuss this here but not so much in India.</description>
