Should I say reverse discrimination? Drop in dollar values has Indian authorities discriminating against the dollar in tourist locations like the Taj Mahal.

Ah,
There are other ‘tourist’ areas too. My close friend landed in Hyderabad this Friday morning, only to be bugged by a customs official that a minor edge on his passport was torn (further tearing it under the pretext of showing him) and then almost threatened him with issuing a letter to make it mandatory for him to get a new passport (that would make him go for Visa stamping again, in India, and also stop his plan of getting his newly wedded wife back to US next month). The easy way out was ONE HUNDRED freaking dollars.
The dollar is REALLY loosing its value and the corrupt officials know it too..
Ahh the days. Firs time I went back to India, I had to give him $20 and a 500 Rupee note. I guess things have really changed.
Then again, that was at the Bombay airport. I thought things were much better in the smaller regional airports.
