A brown cake for a brown birthday. And yes, we figured that the number of candles represents the birthday, we were cheap and just ripped a photo off of some kid’s birthday party.

Alcohol was flowing and my birthday loot was growing. It was September 2006. The discussion revolved around two things, my upcoming trip to Germany and alcohol. After about 5 shots, Santosh looked at me and said “Dude, we need a group blog for FOB’s”.

I must admit, the thought had crossed my mind on more than one occasion. I had even made a list of domain names that I would have loved to have. Drunk we went over the list and let’s just say that most of them were taken and we gave up.

The next day was a haze, cleaning up the house, calling friends to thank them for the gifts (I had opened them the previous night, but it was “different” seeing the booty sober) and confirming my tickets, when I figured why not ÃœberDesi. A few clicks later, the domain was mine.

The last year has been amazing, when we started, we had no expectations. In fact if you go back to the start, it was Santosh and I commenting on each other’s posts. Then Sanjaya happened.

The way we think, act (and even how I dress) and approach most things has changed, mostly for the good. We set out to have fun and we could not have had a better time.

It is a small milestone, but we have decided to try something new, invite our commenter’s, readers and lurkers to write for us.

The past few weeks, I have received a few emails about people wanting to write, but not having enough time, resources or the drive to consistently do so. Well, here is your chance.

If you want to put down your thoughts (even if it once every few months) on things we have not covered, or if you have a different point of view, then contact us and we will help set it up.
