Blair’s BMW busted?

The BMW 7 series car for Mr. Blair was modified with reinforced doors and bulletproof glass.

The UK is one of the few countries that has a very high level of security 24/7 and the same goes for its ex-top man, Tony Blair. But apparently a lapse by the Metropolitan polices Counter-Terrorism command, saw 4 asylum seekers hitch a ride in a truck that was carrying Mr. Blairs brand new toy, a modified 7 series.

The modified £100,000 dark-grey BMW 7 Series — with bulletproof glass and reinforced doors had been ordered from the German car giant’s HQ in Munich by the Met Police’s Counter-Terrorism Command to provide protection for former PM Mr Blair, who has a 24-hour guard.

Why is this on UD? Because the asylum seekers are beleived to be from the Indian sub-continent.

The lorry and its container should have been impregnable. But the asylum seekers — believed to be from the Indian sub-continent — are believed to have got inside in northern France.

They were found in Vauxhall yesterday morning and arrested.

The arrest in itself was pretty funny.

Police found the men hiding in the vehicle’s container after it was delivered to a cop garage in South London.

When the sealed doors were opened, the four jumped into the officers’ arms.

The cops returned the car saying it’s security had been compromised, BMW is co-operating. But my question is this, should Mr. Blair not be seen in a Jaguar or a Rolls Royce or even an Aston Martin? Fine he is not the Prime Minister, but he still is pretty popular and it’s the government that is buying the car. A few years ago, the Queen helped design a royal car, a Bentley State Limo.

I also remember, from my trip to the Mercedes Benz museum where I read about Princess Diana getting a lot of slack for driving a 500SL, which later had to be returned.
