You might have seen a swan on the red carpet, but have you ever seen an elephant?
I have never been a big fan of red carpets or movies for that matter. But every once in a while you come across certain red carpet moments that you cannot pass. Yes Bjork and her swan dress is the first thing that comes to my mind too.
And then there are moments like this.
An elephant greeted the viewers who came for the premiere of ‘Vanaja’, an acclaimed debut film of Rajnesh Domalpalli, an IIT engineering graduate who did his masters in film-making from Columbia University in New York.
This one should be all over VH1’s Best week ever.
The film that started as a first semester project took on a different approach when it tackled India’s class system and went on the win many international awards including the Best Feature Film award in Berlin for 07.
A 14 year old kid from a humble background wants to make it as a dancer and an elephant is featured in the film, which was incorporated in the red carpet.
What else could desis add to a red carpet that will capture headlines?
