Formula 1 relies of keeping secrets, making changes other teams are unaware of and keeping everything behind the curtains.
If you do not, the transcripts end up on F1 fan sites.
Or still worse in Narain Karthikeyan’s case, reporters and fans are confused.
Narain’s furious agent, decided to give a phone interview to the PTI said
Spyker decided to go for a driver who brought in money rather than professional ability
The very next day Narain sat down to chat with The Hindu and claimed
Colin’s respects me as a driver. And, I felt returning to F1 was a good idea. The offer was so good to resist that we even went to the extent of talking to the Williams team. This is in direct contradiction to what had been previously claimed, where Narain never approached WilliamsF1 about his drive because Spyker had not made up their mind.
I am not sure on what is going on, but Narain needs to watch what he says. He reacted strongly to Collin Kolles after an apparent confrontation a few years ago and that is the kind of news that takes drives away. Now we understand that there is a lot to be desired as far as press releases / communication between driver – agent. I am not sure on how this is going to affect Narain’s career, but I can assure you that it will not be positive.
