Canine Almighty

Looks like you are new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Superstition has reached new heights or shall we say, depths. Now people in India allegedly believe that dogs join humans in prayer at the Kali temple in Buxar, Bihar.

Just as the devotees blow the conch before the evening prayer, the dogs get ready to participate in the prayers.
“Everyday these dogs come in dozens for the evening prayers at the temple,” said the priest, Aditya Pandey.
Surprisingly, no one has trained them to do so and after the prayer session, they patiently wait for the prasad.

So let me get this straight - dogs bark, howl and beg for food. And somehow this is a miracle??

I have two dogs in my house. Every night when they hear plates clanking, miracles happen. Wherever my canine friends are, whatever they are doing - licking their own nether regions, sniffing each other’s posteriors, harassing the cats - they make a beeline for the dining table. There they sit and wait patiently till my family finishes dinner. After dinner, they are fed table scraps, i.e. prashad. After that as we settle down to catch some crappy reality TV, our dogs join in too. The younger dog, likes to bark at noises on television. When our neighbour decides it’s time for us to hear Ludacris, trust me, my dogs are jamming and howling. Fo shizzle!

I can also get my dogs to sit, lay, shake hands and stand on their hind legs …… most times.

From association by superstition, I’ve come to the conclusion, I must be god. All ye, bow before me!
