Shantilal Bhaya Bariya, a 48 year old convenience store clerk was shot during a violent armed robbery in Moultrie, GA, and died later in hospital.

An armed robbery and shooting Tuesday night that left a 48-year-old convenience store clerk dead has sent shock waves throughout the community.

Shantilal Bhaya Bariya, 48, of 2809 Fifth St. S.E., Apt. E-2, was shot once in the left arm during an armed robbery at the Quick Mart convenience store at 1100 W. Central Ave. The shooting occurred at 10:39 p.m. The bullet went into his chest and hit his lung and other vital organs, and he died while being treated for the injuries at Colquitt Regional.

Here’s a video of the robbery (link at the bottom of page titled “Store robber is a murderer”), that also shows Shantilal getting shot. He has just arrived in the US 5 months back and has wife and children back home in India. One can only imagine what they’re going through right now.
