Air Chief Marshal F H Major flagged off the Indian expedition that will cover Forty Thousand Kilometers, what makes this special is that all this will be done on a microlight plane with a single engine.

The current record which was set by a brit is at 99 days. The Indian duo is trying to cover the distance in 64 days and if all goes well they should be back by August 4th.

Monga also holds the record for the highest altitude in a microlight plane by an Indian, a height of 21,000 feet. If I have this right, microlight planes do not have any pressurizing system, which makes this almost impossible.

The expedition is now headed to Allahabad. After a few hours of rest, it will take off again towards Bagdogra. From there the duo will head out to Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Russia United States, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Denmark, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Oman and will finally return to India from the Western region into Jamnagar and to Delhi via Udaipur.

We wish the duo good luck and hope all goes well.
