Happy Mothers Day

Looks like you are new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Mothers DayHappy Mothers Day to all our readers’ mothers/ammas/aayis/ammees/maajis and to our readers who are mothers/ammas/aayis/ammees/maajis.

A few quick tips from UberDesi for those who are stuck for Mothers Day ideas:
1. Make her breakfast, she will appreciate it, even if you cannot cook. Don’t let her make your breakfast, unlike what this worthless son made his mother do.
2. Get her a card and some flowers. Even if you cannot afford expensive gifts, it’s the thought that counts.
3. Take her out for ice cream. Who says mothers don’t enjoy ice cream?
4. Tell her to chill and take it easy, she deserves it.

Downside to being an expat, this is the first Mothers Day in 8 years, I spent with my mother.
The upside, you appreciate it even more.

You could just call her and send her pictures of your life. Just to make her feel as if she is still very much a part of your life :)

Spa gift cards, an all planned getaway for her to take a break or buying her that something she always wanted earns you good brownie points :)

    Karthik,
The cards were handed out early this morning and the flowers will be a surprise later today.

    Sakshi,
I tried the spa gift card idea but was strictly forbidden by the recepient saying she wouldn’t be comfortable there. So the pink Motorola Razr was a good compromise :-)

Is there a fellow blogger day? I could use a spa gift card.

Sakshi: I tired this once, when I was young, gave my mom a card for her birthday and she was like WTF. And that was the end of that.
