Guest blogger: Sakshi

From Karthik On 30 April 2007 View Comments

We here at UberDesi have been discussing the absence of a representation from the fairer sex. We met and discussed this issue over and over again in the past few months, until we came up with a solution.

Our first female guest blogger is a boat load of fun. A self-confessed geeky graduate student who is outspoken. If the “she is like so many of the other Indian grad students I have met” thought is running through your head, stop and think again.

She loves beer and college football. She hates gossip magazine and has switched schools faster than anyone you and I have ever known. She is directionally challenged and to top this all off, she loves the Australian cricket team.

We could keep going about who she is, but we would rather let you read it in her own words.

Sakshi known to her close friends as Mana, also blogs at Scientific Curiosity and Kitchen Helper.

We would appreciate it if you could help Sakshi find one of them tall men who are intelligent. Bonus points if they have a sense of humor. We are all about family here at UD.

My vote, which should come as no surprise is for the Asian guy we love, he could come in handy when she gets lost, but then again, he is a little too tall for her liking. At least we tried.

Welcome Sakshi, it is nice to have you writing at UberDesi and as a reminder, we would love to get your input on a hazing procedure.

Looks like you are one of our regular visitors. Here is our RSS feed, just another way to keep up with the new posts.

  • @Desinole - See that caring attitude of you'll makes me want to stay here. Now get to work and find me another man, please!!
  • desinole
    @ the girl from ipanema:

We worked on the information we dug up on Sakshi. That and we wanted to make sure that she would not get lost. We here at UD do not like to lose bloggers. :-).

Glad you guys are having fun with our choice.
  • ROFL @ the tall asian dude they have lined up for you, sakshi! :-)
looking forward to sakshi-isms at UD
  • @Lalit - hehehe. I told Mohati that putting romantic and me together would result in a lot of people who know me calling the straightjacket sqaud :P

@Desi Nole - I have full faith in you guys bringing me "suitable boys" ;)

@Karthik - I am sure that kinda hazing ritual will get you more guest bloggers :)

@Santosh - I always say that "Procrastination and Rationalization" are the two must have things in life. Way to go :)
  • Welcome Sakshi. Congrats on being the second blogger at UberDesi to escape an elaborate hazing ritual because we're too lazy to come up with one on our own :-)
  • Thanks for the Uber Intro, guys.. I have left suggestions for the hazing on my blog.

We are pleased to have you here and we will check out the suggestions.
  • The Desi Nole
And last but not the least she is a hopeless romantic who believes that somebody, somewhere is made for her except she does not really care to find him.

Ahh, we needed this kind of input.

If I was successful, I am sure it will happen to her too, it's only a matter of time.
  • And last but not the least she is a hopeless romantic

    @Sakshi & Mohati
    I stopped reading after that
Had a terrible heartache n sudden loss of vision accompanied by drizziness n nausea.
    :P
  • Thanks for the Uber Intro, guys.. I have left suggestions for the hazing on my blog.

@Mohati - Romantic.. LMAO. Thanks, buddy. For trying to atleast help me project, she is just like other Desi girls image :P
  • Mohati
Adding to Karthik's introduction for Sakshi…
Moreover she has a very sarcastic sense of humor which I am sure you will get more than a glimpse of over here and we love her for that. She can also rant on anything and everything, again we love her for these rants which we get to hear and/or read everyday.
And last but not the least she is a hopeless romantic who believes that somebody, somewhere is made for her except she does not really care to find him.
I am sure she will spice up this blog with her own ‘Sakshi-touch’...
