Update: Sanjaya made it through to the top 9. Also as predicted here, Chris Sligh was eliminated.

Update: Sanjaya sporting a mohawk - I don’t know what other words to describe the abomination in the picture - sang “Bath Water” by No Doubt. The kid sure knows how to get attention and keep the spotlight on him. The first thing that comes to your head when I say Ozzy Osbourne is probably “bit off a bat’s head“. Similarly, the enduring memory (good or bad) from American Idol top 10 night will be Sanjaya’s mohawk. Simon admitted Sanjaya was immune to the judges opinions because of his popularity. At the time of polls closing, DialIdol has Sanjaya in the top 4, translation: safe. Judging from tonight’s performances Haley or Chris Sligh are in danger of being voted off. Tune in tomorrow 9/8c to see who gets voted off.

Update: The number to vote for Sanjaya this week is 1-800-IDOLS-04. Remember you can vote as many times as you can dial till 2 hours after the show concludes.

‘J,’ the MySpacer who wants Sanjaya Malakar off ‘American Idol,’ is nine days into her hunger strike and feeling the effects, reports TMZ.Com. She writes on her blog, ” I know I promised you guys a YouTube video, but I am just feeling too tired and weak to do it tonight. I don’t even know how I’m typing this right now.”

Got to admire her persistence. Although, if this continues she may need to be baker acted.

Also gay socialites and conservatives are against Sanjaya - a rather unusual coalition. Actually Jon Swift, the conservative blogger, is just kidding or so we think.
You know Malakar Mania(^TM) is mainstream when SNL does a spoof on Sanjaya and the crying girl.
Phil Stacey and Sanjaya are among the favorites to be eliminated this week according to the latest odds at Vegas.
