The International sport press is buzzing with activity after Vijay Mallya (a close associate of Bernie aka. The Daddy of F1) said he has always wanted to bring F1 to India.
“It has always been my dream to bring Formula One to India,” he told a news conference on the sidelines of the launch of Toyota’s new TF107 car.
“The government of Delhi I think really wants Formula One in India and I am optimistic that maybe we will be able to host our first race in 2009.”
Mallya made this statement when he announced Kingfisher Airlines sponsorship deal with Toyota F1 team.
Granted that the Shangai International circuit was built in two years, A Delhi grand prix will remain a dream until I acctually see more backers and the circuit.
