Williams to Launch the 2007 car in February

Williams has announced that they will be launching the FW29 on the 2nd February at its factory in Grove. So why is this important you ask ? Besides the fact that the new car will feature a Toyota powered engine, the FW29 has been extensively tested and improved with the help of Narain Karthikeyan.

2006 was one of the worst seasons in Williams F1 history, they finished 8th, behind the recently formed Red Bull Ferrari racing team with just 11 points. The team has tried hard to improve the reliablity for the 2007 season and if Williams make a return to the front of the grid, The stock of India’s only F1 driver (who with his Coimbatore background, I am told can also be claimed as Mallu) might just go up.

F1 fans from the sub-continent will also be pleased to know that Narain might be driving the car he helped perfect on Fridays. The possibility that one of the race drivers might sit Friday practice out and let Narain drive looks more real after the recent comments by Narain.
