Umakanth Sharma, a chess player was recently caught cheating at chess. He was nabbed when an opponent suspected something was very suspicious about a wool cap Uma was wearing. On further inspection by the authorities, they found the wool cap concealed a bluetooth headset which was being used to, pardon the pun, dial his plays in.
If you follow, college or pro football, coaches wearing headsets are a common sight. They use it to communicate with their staff upstairs on defense and offense. Apparently Uma had a defensive and offensive coordinator from outside, which gave him an unfair advantage over his opponent.

As a result of this incident, Uma was banned for 10 years by the All India Chess Federation (AICF), which means his career is done. Welcome to cheating in the 21st century!!!!
The All India Chess Federation at its Central Council meeting on December 26, 2006 at Chennai slapped a ten year ban on Umakant Sharma of Southern Railway. Umakant was found with a hidden blue tooth device during the AIR MARSHAL SUBROTO Fide rating tournament at Delhi recently.
The cap and device were exhibited at the meeting by Mr.Bharat Singh Chauhan, Treasurer - AICF.

Was it a wool cap or his hair?
Maybe he is wearing a wig
A bad photo possibly ?
Or a bad hairstyle?
Poor guy. Aren’t they supposed to have a rule about wearing hats, though?
I know in college, during exams, you’re not allowed to wear headgear. You would think the all national chess association would’ve thought twice before letting him wear it.
Yliram: I personally think that it takes one person to be exposed before new rules are put into place.
Yliram, they have a rule in Chess where the players are not allowed to access mobile phones or accessories. Clearly this guy was breaking the rules, knowingly or unknowingly.
…not to mention he is breaking all kinds of fashion rules!
This is begging for an episode of “Queer Eye for the Chess guy”.
the episode would be called “Uma Goodness! What’s with the hair?”
okay, I’m done picking on the poor fellow.
Sports Illustrated…
I couldn’t understand some parts of this article, but it sounds interesting…
